We are delighed to shate that Third-year B. Pharm. student of SVKM;s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy (Autonomous),  Ms.  Sampada Desai has secured  1st Place in the Maharashtra State Finals of the IndiaSkills Competition 2026. Her inspiring journey began at the cluster-level competition in Nashik on 2nd January 2026, where she qualified to represent Maharashtra at the state finals. IndiaSkills, organised under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and implemented by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), is India’s premier national skills competition, celebrating excellence and industry-ready talent. Ms. Sampada received this prestigious award in the presence of Shri Mangal Prasad Lodha, Hon’ble Minister of Skill Development, Employment & Entrepreneurship, Government of Maharashtra, and was felicitated by an esteemed government panel — making the moment even more special.

We are delighted to share that our students achieved remarkable success at the 8th Nirma Institute of Pharmacy International Conference (NIPICON), Nirma University, Ahmedabad, held from 29th–31st January 2026 Mr. Abdussamad Kazi and Ms. Mansi Jha secured 1st Place for their research titled “Dyclonine Suppresses Calcineurin–Nuclear Factor of Activated T Cell Signaling in Cardiac Hypertrophy”, under the guidance of Dr. Lokesh Bhatt, Professor, Pharmacology Department.

Ms. Ashwini Mendon, Mr. Sahil Jain, and Ms. Nishi Mishra won the Consolation Prize for their poster titled Formulation and Evaluation of a Moxifloxacin HCL Loaded Microsponge In Situ Gel for Bovine Microbial Keratitis at the final round of  20th Aavishkar Research Convention 2025 organized by the University of Mumbai at Churchgate. This project focuses on development and evaluation of a microsponge based in situ gel for treatment of bovine keratitis.

Mrs. Ranu Purohit secured a bronze medal, under the mentorship of Dr. Munira Momin, for her poster titled “Fabrication and characterization of a novel implantable nanofibers scaffold loaded with metformin for the management of spinal cord injury, " at the final round of 20th Aavishkar Research Convention 2025 organized by the University of Mumbai at Churchgate.

This project focuses on developing an implantable nanofibrous scaffold loaded with metformin to provide localized, sustained drug delivery at the spinal cord injury site. The scaffold is fabricated and characterized to promote neuroprotection and regeneration while minimizing systemic exposure and adverse effects.

Ms. Khushali Nathani won First prize and gold medal, under the mentorship of Professor Sujata Sawarkar for her research project titled "Dual Therapeutic Drug Delivery for Muscle Repair: An Advanced Dual-Platform Scaffold System" at State Level in 18th Aavishkar Maharashtra Interstate Research Convention 2025-26 organized at Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krushi Vidyapith, Parbhani on 31st January 2026.

The project primarily focused on skeletal muscle repair and regeneration caused due traumatic injuries experienced during bomb blasts, accidents, burns, lacerations etc. The study demonstrated using dual therapeutic drugs in combination along with dual scaffold system of Injectable hydrogels and Nanofibers intended for muscle regeneration. The preclinical outcome of the study was successful muscle regeneration. This study highlighted the societal impact and translational significance showing promising outcome.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Ms. Aditi Venkatesh, Ms. Isha Bond, and Ms. Nimisha Chitroda, our talented Final Year B. Pharm students, presented their UG SCIENTELLECT RESEARCH work and secured the Second Prize at the XV Young Pharmacist Innovative Project Award at the State-Level competition organized by Saraswathi Vidya Bhavan's College of Pharmacy, Dombivli, on 15th February 2025. Mentored by Ms. Siddhi Bagwe Parab, Assistant Professor at SVKM’s BNCP, they have demonstrated remarkable potential in pharmaceutical innovation!.

Under BNCP SCINTELLECT PROGRAMME- Final Year Students- Mr. Ankit Gohil and Ms. Krisha Gandhi, under the guidance of Sankalp Gharat, have won First place for presenting research poster "Design, Development and Characterization of Opthalmic System for the Management of Uveitis" at Two Days National Seminar and Poster Presentation themed " Advances and Innovations in the field of Pharmacy" held at MET Institute of Pharmacy on 30^th and 31^st August 2024.

Dr. Trinette Fernandes, BNCP Alumni and Ph.D. student guided by Dr. Sujata Sawarkar, Professor & HoD- Pharmaceutics awarded "Young Scientist Grant" award at CRS International Conference, Italy on 8th July 2024. She was also awarded with a Travel Grant of USD 2000 for attending this conference.

Dr. Trinette Fernandes guided by Dr. Sujata Sawarkar, Professor & HoD of Pharmaceuitcs won First Prize at the prestigious 22nd CRS-IC International Symposium held on 29th Feb and 1st March 2024. The prize was presented to her at the hands of Prof Twan Lammers, President of CRS International.

Third Year B. Pharm. student Mr. Shivanshu Pandey under the guidance of Dr. Sandip Zine got 2nd Prize and a cash Prize of Rs. 10000 in State Level event "XIV Young Pharmacist Innovative Project Award" competition organized by Saraswathi Vidya Bhavan's College of Pharmacy, Dombivli on 24th Feb 2024.

S.Y. M. Pharm students Ms. Dhanashri Kadam & Ms. Pranita Lodha under the guidance of Dr. Sandip Zine secured "Third Prize" and a Cash prize of Rs. 5000 in National Level Research Poster Presentation competition held on 3rd Feb 2024 at NCRD's Sterling Institute of Pharmacy, Nerul, Navi Mumbai.
